Clerky creates legal documents developed with venture capital-backed startups in mind. These companies typically need somewhat complex legal documents allowing for outside investment, multiple types of equity, and equity compensation. Clerky only allows formation of Delaware C-corporations. Clerky’s speciality is providing complex legal documents.
For companies not planning to immediately raise outside investment, Clerky offers limited choices - you cannot form an S-corporations, LLC, or entity in any state other than Delaware.
Clerky does not offer logo, website, trademark searches, domain name registration, company email, SEO help, or the complete range of Starter Guides and task-automating Starter Tools, all of which are included in Startomatic’s flat monthly fee.
If you are not planning to immediately raise money from professional investors, you’re not operating in Delaware, and/or you need any services other than legal formation documents, Clerky may not be a good choice. Startomatic provides significantly more features, including the ability to incorporate in all 50 states.
